Rural people are now enjoying the benefits of towns: State Minister for ICT
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that the incumbent government is a worker-friendly government. During the Corona pandemic, government officials and public representatives stood by the people. We have dealt with all the disasters with the people during the Corona pandemic or floods whatsoever.
Noting that the government is working to turn the villages into towns, he said the people of the villages are now enjoying the benefits of towns. Roads, ghats, electricity, health, education, medicine, internet and all other facilities now exist in the villages.
The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Singra Upazila bus stand in Natore on Tuesday on the occasion of distribution of food items as Eid gifts in the hands of 1,200 workers of 31 labor organizations.
Mr. Palak said, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, our country is tackling the Corona pandemic by protecting both life and livelihood. But the developed countries of the world including America and Europe are at loss tackling the pandemic.
He added that the government has provided humanitarian assistance to 8,600 families in the country worth Tk 2,500 for each family. Singra Municipality was by the side of the people of the area during the corona situation; the municipal mayor delivered food items tirelessly from house to house.
“We are working in the interest of the workers”, said the state minister and added that we have turned the workers into owners. I am constantly working to train and make the workers self-reliant.
Alhaj Md. Jannatul Ferdous, Mayor, Singra Municipality addressed the meeting as a special guest. The meeting was hosted by Ashraful Islam Swapan, General Secretary of Singra Shramik League while the meeting was presided over by Councilor Jahangir Alam, Chairman, Singra Upazila Shramik League.
Workers leaders of 31 organizations including Maulana Ruhul Amin, Religious Affairs Secretary of Upazila Awami League were present at the occasion.
Earlier, the state minister for ICT handed over a check of Tk 5.5 lakh to 13 religious and social organizations and 58 helpless families at the Upazila Parishad auditorium while maintaining a safe social distance.
Palak said the present government will be by the side of helpless people in the future as well as in the past 13 months. He also urged all present to follow the rules of health and hygiene to control the pandemic.
